Operation Tohidu Telethon
The Veterans Mental Health Advisory Council at the Washington DC VA Medical Center and Maryland Mental Health Advisory Council has partnered up with the NFL Alumni and other Pro Sports Athletes to raise money for Warriors on the Green. According to Danielle Milloway, CEO of Pro Players Promo and Rafael Garcia, CEO/Managing Editor of NGSC Sports and former professional MLB player, Athletes and Veterans struggle with many of the very same disabilities and together we hope to create change. As with many former NFL players who struggle with depression, CTE, memory loss and other disabilities, golf is a healing sport that keeps their minds cognitive and focused thus keeping the emotional darkness of CTE controlled. Warriors on the Green is a non-profit and volunteer organization dedicated to using the game of golf as a recovery-oriented modality to support the rehabilitation and reintegration of wounded military and disabled veterans. With dedicated golf training facilities and programs, an increased number of rehabilitating veterans will find themselves once again gaining new confidence and new skills, to better prepare them for re-entry into everyday life with hope, healing, and happiness towards “Tohidu” - peace of mind, body, and spirit.
