Veterans Day Concert Highlights WOTG
Four war veterans from World War II, Korea and Operation Iraqi Freedom were honored at the Veterans Day Concert in downtown Baltimore on November 10.
The honorees included Sergeant First Class James Thomas Odom, who served in Korea; Chief Petty Officer Ismael Torres, who served inKorea; Staff Sergeant Jared Gould, who served in Iraq; and Captain Vernon Foster, who served in World War II and was honored last year, but returned for a surprise celebration of his 100th birthday.
The annual concert is sponsored by Blind Industries and Services of Maryland (BISM) to help raise awareness of the great work carried out by BISM, Warriors on the Green (WOTG) and Sound Minds USA on behalf of our veterans and active military personnel. Funds raised by the event support the rehabilitation and reintegration of wounded warriors into every day life.
WOTG Chairman Jeff Foulk spoke about his commitment to the nonprofit and shared his vision to build golf courses dedicated to the rehabilitation of wounded, ill and injured veterans. With the help of donors, WOTG hopes to break ground next year on the first facility at Fort Belvoir, VA, with other facilities to follow.
